Biological Terrorism: The Insider Threat
February 9 @ 12:30 pm EST
While there has always been a long-standing fear among experts that actors would someday carry out a bioterrorist attack, the global COVID-19 pandemic has brought the spectre of bioterrorism back into the spotlight.
Societies have become increasingly polarized and the fourth industrial revolution has made access to toxic agents uncomfortably easy. In this presentation we will explore how an insider could use privileged access to launch a ‘simple’ biological attack from within and we will investigate the impact of such an event.
Together, we will demystify the threat so that corporate security professionals around the world are better equipped to make realistic threat assessments and more effectively mitigate the risk of insider-bioterrorism.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- understand the evolving threat of biological terrorism
- relate the threat of bioterrorism to corporate security
- understand the risk of biological terrorism with a focus on the insider threat
- carry out a realistic risk assessment and chart an effective risk mitigation strategy
Completion of this webinar is eligible for 1 CPE credit. CPE credits for ASIS-sponsored webinars will be updated in your user profile within 48 hours of completion. Self-reporting of CPE credits is not required.
