ASIS Edmonton/Northern Alberta Chapter 156 Luncheon
November 25, 2020 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm EST
We are excited and pleased to have, Rein Tonowski as our November speaker. He is the Director of Central Operations at Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA) and has been with AEMA since September 2013 in various roles. Rein will discuss what AEMA and the Provincial Operating Centre (POC) does for our province and his role as Incident Commander when significant incidents occur.
Rein is responsible for implementing, leading an effective province-wide and cross-governmental coordination of all response and recovery activities during major emergencies and terrorist events in the province. The aim is minimizing loss of life, suffering, loss of infrastructure and damage to the environment, and to ensure continued public faith in, and support of the government. He is responsible for coordinating the development of all consequence management plans. This includes coordination with private and public sector organizations to ensure plans are synchronized and are in compliance with provincial and federal legislation.
This November session will be valuable to everyone in the industry especially with everything that is taking place in our own backyards and the world.
