2022 FIFA World Cup Scenario-Based Planning
February 1 @ 11:00 am EST
The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be held in Doha, Qatar from 21 November to 18 December, 2022. This is the first time the competition will be held in a Muslim country, as well as the first time the tournament will be held in what is effectively a single city. For these reasons, the tournament will present significant and varied security challenges which have not been previously encountered. Using the “red-teaming” method, Matterhorn identifies some of the key challenges likely to be encountered and discusses possible mitigations.

- Develop an understanding of the unique cultural and societal structure of Qatar.
- Develop an understanding of the unique security challenges associated with a football (soccer) tournament.
- Understand the mitigations which can be employed for the challenges of the event.
